A penthouse is a top-floor apartment in a luxury tower - think Downtown, Palm or Business Bay - offering skyline or sea views, private lifts and building amenities. A mansion is a large standalone villa on its own plot, concentrated in Emirates Hills, Palm Jumeirah and MBR City. Mansions command Dubai's highest absolute prices, from roughly AED 30 million upward.
