Which areas of Dubai can foreigners buy freehold property in?

Foreigners can buy freehold only in designated zones, dozens of them, including Dubai Marina, Downtown Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, Business Bay, JVC, Dubai Hills and Arabian Ranches. Older districts such as Deira, Bur Dubai and Al Karama are generally restricted to UAE/GCC nationals or offered leasehold only.
