If my Dubai property still has a mortgage when I die, does the debt pass to my heirs?
The mortgage does not disappear on death - it is settled from your estate. UAE banks normally require mortgage life (protection) insurance, which usually clears the balance so heirs inherit unencumbered. Heirs aren't personally liable unless they co-signed or guaranteed. If cover lapsed, heirs must repay, refinance or sell to clear it before transfer. (verify policy terms)
