What protects my money if I buy off-plan and the developer doesn't finish the building?
Under Dubai's Escrow Law (Law No. 8 of 2007), a developer selling off-plan must deposit your payments into a project-specific escrow account regulated by RERA. Funds are released to the developer only against construction milestones verified by auditors. If RERA cancels a project, the escrow agent refunds buyers or a replacement developer is appointed to complete it. Always confirm the escrow account before paying.
