How does cooling/chiller registration work if it's not chiller-free?

In chiller-paid buildings you register separately with the district-cooling provider (e.g. Empower, Emaar, Tabreed) before or at move-in, using your Ejari and Emirates ID. Expect a refundable deposit around AED 2,000 for an apartment (AED 3,000 villa) plus connection/administration fees and a quarterly meter charge. You then get a monthly cooling bill on top of DEWA.
