How does renewal work and how much notice is needed?

Contracts are usually one year and often renew automatically on the same terms. If either party wants to change the rent or conditions - or not renew - they must give at least 90 days' written notice before expiry, unless you agree otherwise. Any rent increase must follow the RERA rental index/Smart Rental Index caps under Dubai's rent-cap decree.
