Non-payment has real consequences. The owners' association issues a formal notice, usually 30 days, and can pursue you through the Rental Dispute Centre or courts. Crucially, the developer or DLD can withhold your No Objection Certificate, which blocks any sale, mortgage or transfer. Amenity access may be suspended, and persistent default can lead to legal action or forced auction.
