What can I do if my developer delays handover of my off-plan property?

Most Sale and Purchase Agreements allow a grace period, commonly 6-12 months, beyond the completion date. If the delay is unjustified and exceeds that window, you can complain to RERA/DLD, which can order refunds from the mandatory escrow account or penalise the developer. You may also claim termination or compensation for losses (Article 292, Civil Code) through the Real Estate Court.
